Michelangelo - Penang

mood: random
song: ti amo (umberto tozzi)

I believe everyone knows or heard of Michelangelo as the great Italian Renaissance artist. But the Michelangelo that I meant would be a restaurant located at Gurney Place in Gurney Plaza Penang instead :).
I have to admit, when people mention Italian food, the only thing I can think of would be just spaghetti. But this proved me wrong today.

the bar

Michelangelo is a pleasant restaurant that sits between a casual and fine-dining.

The entire restaurant really did gives me the "Italian" feel. I honestly love the interior of this outlet as they were decorated with Michelangelo's artwork which had made the store to portray a charming yet romantic ambiance with the renaissance theme.

The creation of Adam
One of the most famous artwork by Michelangelo.

the menu

Strawberry Margarita
Mango Margarita
Lime Margarita
The margaritas were all lethally good! Did I mention that all ladies were entitled to enjoy a FREE margarita on every Monday by just purchasing a main course whereas on Wednesday by just purchasing 1st glass of margarita at normal price from 3pm to 9pm.

Gamberoni Piccanti
Shelled king prawns, cooked in garlic, chillies, white wine and herbs served with ciabatta bread.
The entire combination of this dish marry together and had form a perfect union to create the ultimate taste as the herbs had adds that extra little kick that will definitely makes you want to keep eating.

Zuppa di pollo e fungi
A soup in its own right, chicken and mushrooms

Zuppa di pesce
A soup to die for mussels, clams, cuttlefish, monk fish and snapper cooked in garlic, chillies, white wine, tomatoes, herbs and served with croutons.
This dish were absolutely scrumptious and not to mention luscious too.

Pollo a la Bacco
Chicken breast cooked in white wine, mushrooms, garlic herbs touch of tomatoes and creamy sauce.
Love the whole combination of this dish as the creamy sauce and herbs used blends well together.

Melanzane Parmigiana
Oven-baked aubergines, mozzarella, parmesan, tomatoes and herbs.
Absolute mouth-watering and scrumptious. To be honest you can never just have one bite.

Sella D'Agnello
Fresh rack of lamb roasted and served with red wine, port, rosemary and garlic jus(sauce).

Linguini del pescatore
Also known as "The Fisherman's pasta. Linguini pasta cooked with seafood, garlic, chillies, herbs, olive oil and white wine sauce.
One of my favourite dish of the day as the pasta is cooked to a perfect al dente so that it is still firm yet soft when you bite into it. Besides, the seafood did not overwhelm the entire taste of the dish. Perfect for my taste.

Dolce Di Datteri
Sticky date pudding, served with hot butter scotch sauce, topped with gelato vanilla.
Love the splendid combination of the sticky date pudding and the hot butter scotch sauce topped with a sensual gelato vanilla to be melt in your mouth for a perfect taste sensation.

The cute Chef Paolo
This new menu will be available for the entire month of April.
By the way, I highly recommend Michelangelo for dinner on weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) as you would specially have Chef Paolo to cook for you. Seriously, if any of you are looking for quality Italian food at reasonable prices, this would be the place. Overall I would say the entire experience were uplifting and the food were all tantalizing.

delizioso! (●´∀`●)
